PSL 9 Game 9: Peshawar Zalmi Break the Win Streak of Multan Sultans

At the Multan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by 5 runs, thanks to a last-over by Naveen-ul-Haq, who remained composed.

Babar Azam won the toss for Match 9 of PSL and decided to bat first. Opening the innings were Saim Ayub and Babar Azam, with David Willey taking the new ball. Willey bowled three wide deliveries in the opening over because of the swing, and Babar smashed two boundaries off Mohammad Ali in the second over.

In the fourth over, Saim was dismissed while attempting to hit his go-to "Pasli shot" to Shahnawaz Dahani. After capturing the wicket, the right-armer unleashed his trademark celebration.

Haseebullah, facing Dahani, began his innings by hitting the ball clear of the ground when on one down. Haseebullah hit two maximums of Iftikhar Ahmed's off-spin before Usama Mir claimed skipper Babar's wicket.

The left-handed hitter persisted in his aggressive hitting before getting dismissed for an 18-ball 37 (4×4 2×6) by Mir. Then Usama Mir performed a brilliant feat to remove Mohammad Haris for a run-a-ball score of 19 (1×4 0x6).

Rovman Powell was the next to go down, losing for 23 (3×4 1×6), having played at a strike rate over 200. Zalmi finished at 179-8 in the 20 overs as a result of Luke Wood's shenanigans in the final over.

The two most remarkable bowlers among the group were Mohammad Ali (4-0-23-2) and David Willey (4-0-28-2).
