After a disastrous 22-4 start, Rohit Sharma's magnificent unbeaten effort of 121 runs off 69 balls saved India, taking the total to 212-4. Gulbadin Naib's 55 off 23 brought Afghanistan back to 212-6 and forced a super over.
After both sides scored 16 runs in the first super over, which ended in a tie, Rohit Sharma guided India to an 11-1 lead in just three balls in the second super over, which Ravi Bishnoi's superb bowling, which saw him concede just one run and take two wickets, ensured India's victory.
It should be remembered that a match ending in a second super over has never occurred before in the history of men's T20Is.
