By hitting the most sixes in the T20I format, Mohammad Rizwan, the wicketkeeper and vice captain of Pakistan, created a new T20I record for the national side.
In the second Twenty20 International match between New Zealand and Australia at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Sunday, Rizwan hit his 77th six off Kiwi bowler Tim Southee in the opening over of the innings, with the team chasing a total of 195.

With 77 sixes, Rizwan has now surpassed former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez, who currently holds the second-place record with 76 T20I maximums.

The most sixes by Pakistani batsmen in T20I Player Matches were 87 matches–77 sixes for Muhammad Rizwan, 119 matches–76 sixes for Mohammad Hafeez, 98 matches–73 sixes for Shahid Afridi, 123 matches–69 sixes for Shoaib Malik, and 84 matches–55 sixes for Umar Akmal.
