Zaka Ashraf has stepped down from his position as PCB Management Committee Chairman.
Mr. Ashraf, who took over for Najam Sethi in July of last year, has submitted his resignation letter to Anwaarul Haq Kakar, the acting prime minister. Additionally, he is no longer a candidate for PCB chairman since he resigned from his position as a board of governors member.
“I was working for the betterment of cricket,” he said.
Days earlier, Ashraf was prevented by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) from hosting an important IMC meeting in Karachi. It was then that the development took place. Zaka was meant to form the Board of Governors (BoGs), the electoral college used to choose the PCB president for a three-year tenure.
